Alberta Infrastructure designs, builds, manages, and maintains government-owned and operated facilities, and collaborates with other ministries to ensure that schools, hospitals and government facilities infrastructure meet the needs of Alberta’s population. Role Responsibilities

Reporting to the Team Manager, the Furniture Request Coordinator (FRC) is the gatekeeper for the furniture Work Order Request Tracking System (WORTS Furniture). The FRC reviews all requests for completeness, communicates with Ministry staff as required, and assigns to the appropriate resource within the Furniture Team. Conduct training on the WORTS Furniture system. Provide financial and contract administration services in support of the Furniture Team and Manager. Support the Repair & Warranty program. Maintain the Furniture SharePoint Online site.  

Key responsibilities for the Furniture Request Coordinator include, but are not limited to:
 

  • Review requests to establish the legitimacy, urgency and accuracy of information provided
  • Confirm all required information is provided including, but not limited to, floor plans, pictures, and complete description of work required
  • Review invoices, identify inconsistencies/anomalies and resolve issues in consultation with Furniture Coordinators, Manager and/or vendors
  • Receive, verify, and process year-end accruals in accordance with the Financial Administration Act and department guidelines
  • Maintain the organization and appearance of the SharePoint site to ensure ease of navigation

Qualifications

Required
•    High school diploma plus three years of administrative experience. 
•    Business certificate or diploma will be considered a strong asset

Equivalency
•    Directly related experience or education considered on the basis of: one year of experience for one year of education or one year of education for one year of experience. 

Knowledge/Skills: 
•    Sound knowledge of government policies and standards relating to accommodations
•    Good working knowledge of contract administration including interpretation of relevant sections of contract documents
•    Working knowledge of Microsoft, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills, active listening skills, understanding client
