Role Responsibilities

The Finance and Budget Coordinator position, reporting to the Manager of Grants and Business Services, is a crucial role within the Watershed Resilience and Predictions (WRP) branch. This role entails managing both administrative and programmatic tasks, including overseeing financial administration, handling human resources responsibilities, serving as a backup for the Priority Issues Coordinator, and supervising the Branch Administration position.

Responsibilities includes:
•    Overseeing the preparation of budget reports, tracking payments, managing invoices, and ensuring smooth purchasing processes.
•    Providing support in recruitment, training, policy interpretation, and handling Workers' Compensation claims.
•    Assisting in the preparation, development, and management of contracts and grants while ensuring compliance with policies and guidelines.
•    Ensuring that records are properly managed according to retention policies, handling incident reports, and overseeing other administrative tasks.
•    Ensuring strict compliance with government policies, procedures, and guidelines, and maintaining proper documentation.
•    Contributing to departmental, divisional, and branch priorities, and providing support for key programs as directed by the employer.

Qualifications

Required:   
High school diploma and four years of related experience in Financial Reporting, Human Capital Management, and Supply Chain Management.

Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of: 
•    1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or 
•    1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

Assets:
•    Expertise in Human Capital Management, Financial Reporting, and Supply Chain Management.
•    Strong understanding of finance and human resources procedures.
•    Skilled in analyzing complex situations and developing effective solutions.
•    Familiarity with SharePoint, Action Request Tracking System (ARTS), and expense claims.
•    Effective communication with staff and management, handling sensitive matters with sound judgment.
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, and Adobe, with relevant certifications in administration, records management, or financial management being an asset.

This is a full-time permanent position.
Monday – Friday, 36.25 hours per week.
