This is an 18-month TEMPORARY opportunity.
Role
Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister, Strategic Policy and Performance, you will provide leadership and oversight for the development and delivery of the strategic policy agenda and lead ministry wide policy coordination and legislative planning. This role is accountable for the strategic planning and mapping of policy initiatives for effective cabinet submissions and provides expertise in legislative planning and drafting legal instruments such as Ministerial Orders, Recommendations for Orders in Council, and delegation instruments required by ministry legislation. As the ministry liaison for policy coordination and legislatives services you will be responsible for coordination with Executive Council, Cabinet and Committees, responding to all requests for information and advice and communicate with Legislative Counsel office of Justice on behalf of the department. You will be responsible to develop strategic recommendations, options, and provide advice. Your excellent communication and influential skills will lend to strong networks and relationships with complex stakeholders and partners. You have experience leading strong teams and you demonstrate an understanding of government and department priorities.
Qualifications
Success in this role calls for a progressive leader with a background that includes significant related senior management leadership experience. You bring a strong understanding of policy development, legal documents and instruments, legislative processes and understand heath refocus priorities. You bring demonstrated experience leading complex projects and legislative reviews. You are able to work effectively with stakeholders to manage diverse expectations and interests. A respected leader with experience leading staff, you are committed to building strong lines of communication and trust as well as empowering your teams to achieve results through performance excellence. A related degree is preferred.
Salary
$5,234.94 - $6,879.68 bi-weekly ($136,631 - $179,559 annually)
