Role

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer/Assistant Deputy Minister, you will provide key leadership in policy related to the development and delivery of the department’s strategic policy; lead ministry-wide policy coordination and legislative planning; intergovernmental relations; and priority research and innovation related initiatives. You will oversee and coordinate policy and cabinet submissions ensuring a whole of ministry view, enhance Federal, Provincial and Territorial relations on related files; and use data and analytics to enhance research and innovation initiatives.  Your excellent communication, extensive policy and legislative processes, stakeholder relationships and data analytics skills will lead to your success in this role.  You have experience leading strong teams accountable for policy development and coordination, strong interpersonal relationships and you demonstrate an understanding of government and department priorities.

 

 

Qualifications

Success in this role calls for a progressive leader with a background that includes significant related senior management leadership experience. You bring demonstrated experience leading teams in policy development and coordination, knowledge of legal documents and instruments, legislative processes and understanding of government and ministry priorities. Your background also includes an applied understanding of government decision-making, legislative frameworks, accountability processes and policy development mechanisms. A practiced relationship builder, you excel at engaging stakeholders in shaping and implementing high impact initiatives and have familiarity with Federal, Provincial and Territorial partners. Your capacity to inspire and empower change-agile teams will support you in delivering on key objectives. A related bachelor degree is required and a master’s degree is preferred.

 

Salary

$5,234.94 - $6,879.68 bi-weekly ($136,631 - $179,559 annually)
