Seniors, Community and Social Services provides supports for seniors, families and communities, and helps Albertans access disability services, financial supports, services for the homeless, and other social-based programs. This ministry supports Albertans through a person-centred, integrated service delivery model that recognizes the unique circumstances, experiences and strengths of individuals and families. The ministry also provides oversight for the Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee.

This is a 2-year TEMPORARY opportunity.

 

 

Role
Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister, Seniors Division the Executive Director, Seniors Strategic Planning Branch will provide direction and ensure that networks are developed and maintained with internal and external stakeholders. The Executive Director will guide the development and implementation of strategic frameworks, advance development of the Community-Based Seniors Sector and strengthen elder abuse prevention programs and policy. This role ensures that the perspective of seniors is considered across ministries and thereby influences forward looking policy and program frameworks across government.  You will develop sound policies, strategies, and various frameworks in alignment with GoA priorities and processes. You will provide expertise, enhance stakeholder relations and engagement and develop policy and legislation to support seniors’ and aging populations programs. 

 


Qualifications
Your background includes extensive related senior management experience including social, community-based seniors’ programs as well as policy and legislation development and implementation. As an influential leader you bring experience in generating creative solutions and demonstrate a strong results-oriented background.  Your exceptional communication, policy and legislation development, stakeholder relationship and leadership skills will contribute to your success in this role. Knowledge of senior’s abuse prevention, financial benefit and community-based programs would be an asset. A related degree is preferred.  

 

 

Salary
$5,082.46 - $6,679.30 bi-weekly ($132,652 - $174,329 yearly)
