Role

Working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, the Executive Director, Royalty Operations is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, administration, and monitoring of the province’s conventional oil and natural gas royalties.  Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister (ADM), this position is accountable for the timely and accurate assessment and collection of conventional oil and natural gas royalties – representing billions of dollars of revenue for the provincial government each year. 

 

Strong leadership and industry knowledge will be important skillsets to successfully lead the branch. The Executive Director will also provide technical advice to develop policy and will oversee the royalty frameworks, periodic reviews of programs, and maintenance of critical royalty collection systems.

 

 

Qualifications

As the successful candidate, you will have a strong understanding of the business and technical aspects of the energy industry including oil and gas production and royalty frameworks. You will have extensive senior leadership experience working with energy industry stakeholders and will be known as a credible, fair, and responsible leader. Your strong interpersonal skills, ability to work through complex problems and ability to negotiate and mediate challenging situations will be key to your success. You will bring significant experience working in policy areas as well as a strong understanding of government processes. You have a successful track record in leading and developing teams as well as driving for results.

 

A related post-secondary degree is required (e.g.  commerce, economics, public policy). A graduate degree in a related field such as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) is preferred.

 

 

Salary

$5,896.55 - $7,749.28 bi-weekly ($153,902.57 to $202,256.21 annually)
