Role
Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister (ADM), Financial Services and SFO for Energy and Minerals, this position provides strategic oversight and operational direction to the Professional and Program Services Branch within the Ministry Services Division. The branch, in addition to leading processes for tenure applications and continuations, oil sands allowed costs allocations, and resource evaluations, data/system management for mineral ownership and restrictions, as well as program implementation and monitoring, also provides expert and scientific advice and analysis in the areas of engineering, geology, geomatics, and program design to the department and broader Government of Alberta (GoA) and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
You are a self-starter, with significant senior management experience within a large, complex organization, ideally within a resource related sector. Your career experience also includes significant program development and implementation, operational and business planning, and exposure to policy.
Confident supporting senior leadership, you are skilled at providing unbiased advice and able to summarize highly technical, expert, and scientific subject matter for decision making. With an ability to deliver results, you are recognized for exceptional project and change management abilities, coupled with a demonstrated track record balancing multiple, high-profile initiatives. Your well-developed political and financial acumen helps you address complex and sensitive issues, and you have demonstrated success in fostering partnerships. You are a motivational leader, who purposely creates develops your team to new levels of personal and professional success. Bachelor’s Degree (4 year) with a major in Science or Business, or in another related area is required.
Salary
$5,234.94 - $6,879.68 bi-weekly ($136,631 - $179,559 annually)
