Role

Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister (ADM), Traffic Safety Services (TSS), the Executive Director, Motor Vehicle Modernization is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the Ministry Information Management/Information Technology (IM/IT) strategy as well as modernization of Alberta Motor Vehicle system. 

 

You will lead the strategic transformation of legacy IT systems, policies, business processes and service delivery.  A primary focus of this role is the development, execution and coordination of the Ministry’s Digital Modernization Roadmap. Integral to this work is your strong relationship and collaboration skills as you will be working with a variety of internal teams, cross-governmental partners, other governments, ministries, and key industry stakeholders and associations to modernize systems, programs, policies, and processes resulting in modernizing business processes, foundational data assets, and collision data ecosystem.  

 

As a member of the TSS executive director team, you are a strategic leader who will champion an agile culture by ensuring open lines of communication are consistent and broad, establishing leaders at all levels, and decentralizing decision-making where possible. Additionally, you will chair the Executive Digital IMT committee ensuring data governance, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture and technology investment are prioritized.

 

 

Qualifications

As the successful candidate your background includes extensive related senior management experience in a large organization with a depth of experience in IT and business process design.  You possess demonstrated success in formulating new policies, regulations and programs, and managing complex issues, where circumstances rapidly evolve. You are known for your critical thinking skills, ability to influence, negotiate, and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups to achieve innovative, transformational outcomes. Key strengths include the ability to articulate a strong vision and build an organizational culture embracing innovation and calculated risk-taking. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.  

 

 

Salary

$5,896.65 - $7,749.28 bi-weekly ($153,902.57 to $202,256.21 annually)
