Seniors, Community and Social Services provides supports for seniors, families and communities, and helps Albertans access disability services, financial supports, services for the homeless, and other social-based programs. This ministry supports Albertans through a person-centred, integrated service delivery model that recognizes the unique circumstances, experiences and strengths of individuals and families. The ministry also provides oversight for the Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee. Role
Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister, Preventive Community Services Division, this role will work with all orders of government and agencies across the province to deliver a continuum of preventive, community-based services for the safety and well-being of Albertans. You will provide strategic oversight and direction for government’s support to civil society and community organizations that enable local and preventive responses, to maximize value of funds and promoted community well-being as it relates to the Family and Community Supports Services program, low income transit, food security and service dogs. You will be responsible for planning, creating and leading initiatives that support these programs in collaboration with ministry, cross-ministry, municipal and other organization partners.
Your team will ensure that policy, legislation, community support and funding support the strategic priorities of government. This role involves significant engagement with municipalities and associations, executive leaders within civil society organizations as well as in regular contact with government MLAs and others within key political roles.
Qualifications
Your background includes extensive related senior management experience including social community programs as well as complex project management and grant funding. As an influential leader you bring experience in generating creative solutions and demonstrate a strong results-oriented background. Your exceptional communication, policy and legislation development, stakeholder relationship and leadership skills will contribute to your success in this role. Knowledge of prevention programs and an understanding of community-based programming would be an asset. A related degree is preferred.
Salary
$5,082.46 - $6,679.30 bi-weekly ($132,652 - $174,329 yearly)
