Role
The Childcare Strategy and Policy (CCSP) division is responsible for developing the strategic and program policies to implement two federal Early Learning and Childcare (ELCC) Agreements; the Canada-Alberta Early Learning and Child Care (CACWELCC) Agreement, and the Canada-Alberta Early Learning and Child Care (Bilateral) Agreement in alignment with Alberta's vision for childcare. The CCSP focuses on key areas including affordability, accessibility, workforce development, and inclusion. The division plays a critical role in ensuring integration of programs impacting childcare from strategy, policy and delivery, and leads cross-ministry and intergovernmental relations with respect to childcare.
Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister, Childcare Strategy and Policy, the Executive Director, Childcare Transformation and Strategy is responsible for planning, developing and managing implementation of child care transformation initiatives and is accountable to champion a vision for childcare in Alberta. In this role, you will provide direction to ensure achievement of Alberta's ELCC vision and goals through policy development, project management, issue identification, problem-solving, strategic thinking, and collaborating in the program design and implementation of system transformation. As the Executive Director, you will ensure that relationships, partnerships, policies, and resources are in place to support delivery of a broad and diverse range of strategies, programs, and services as well as building strategic relationships and collaboration with other parts of the division, department and other ministries, and stakeholders.
Qualifications
As Executive Director, you bring extensive senior management experience and track record of leading high-impact projects that shape public policy and enhance service delivery. You demonstrate expertise in policy development and change management, consistently achieving positive outcomes. You are a strategic leader known for driving transformative initiatives and building impactful partnerships, with a proven ability to deliver high-quality results on complex priorities through a results-oriented approach to planning, negotiation, and implementation.
Your ability to build collaborative relationships and cultivate partnerships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, community organizations, and non-profit and business sectors will support your success in this role. Experience working on intergovernmental initiatives and a deep understanding of government decision-making processes, including accountability frameworks and governance structures are assets.
Related bachelor’s degree is required and a master’s degree is preferred.
Salary
$5,234.94 - $6,879.68 bi-weekly ($136,631 - $179,559 yearly)
