Role
Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister of Regulatory Compliance, Quality Assurance and Business Supports, the Executive Director (ED), Child Intervention Office of the Statutory Director provides leadership, advice, and coordination for the resolution of complex and sensitive issues facing the Office of the Statutory Director. As ED you will play a critical role in ensuring the Assistant Deputy Minister, Deputy Minister and Minister receive timely and accurate briefings on current and emerging issues. Each year, there are over 30,000 recorded intakes under Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act (CYFEA) and delegated services are provided to over 9,500 children and youth. 


As the ED, Child Intervention Office of the Statutory Director you will also be accountable to ensure there are frameworks in place to monitor adherence to legislation, regulatory frameworks, and performance measures in the Child Intervention (CI) program that enable the achievement of the Ministry’s business plan goals and objectives. You will also provide delegated authority to five Regional Directors who lead a team of approximately 2,5000 staff, across 88 worksites in all corners of the province and 22 Delegated First Nation Agencies (DFNA) in order to fulfill the CI mandate.


As an ambassador for the Government of Alberta (GoA) and Children and Family Services you will also participate, collaborate, and share nationally through the Provincial / Territorial tables on Child Welfare regarding the CI program in Alberta.

 


Qualifications

Your background includes significant senior management experience leading child intervention delivery. You also have knowledge of operational planning, methodologies, and principles, as well as deep experience in performance measurement and evaluation, reporting, quality assurance, and quantitative evaluation. You are a strategic thinker, highly influential, and able to translate a strategy to encourage others to action. Colleagues recognize your ability to build authentic relationships, navigate complex situations, make progress during ambiguous situations, and motivate a team to embrace new approaches and innovation. You are a skilled change manager and enabler who supports people to achieve results and enhance organizational capacity. Proven strengths in budgeting and resource allocation will be critical to ensure elevated training is available and professional development standards are met. The ideal candidate will have a Master’s Degree or combination of education and experience considered by the Minister to be equivalent.

 


Salary

$5,082.46 - $6,679.30 bi-weekly.  ($132,652 - $174,329 / year)
