Role
Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister, Administrative Law Programs (ALP), while your primary role as the Executive Director (ED) of the ALP Strategy and Policy Branch is to lead high level policy development, the ED also provides strategic leadership and oversight across a wide range of operational areas. This role is responsible for leading divisional initiatives related to the operations of the tribunals within ALP's scope. The Executive Director ensures the delivery of effective divisional support services, with a strong focus on policy development, legislative analysis, stakeholder engagement, technological innovation, and responsive service delivery.
The ED will lead engagement and consultation with internal and external stakeholders, project management, drive policy development and lead recommendations related to the creation of adjudicative branches.
The ED will provide a vision and direction for the development of new tribunals including providing leadership to multiple components of the implementation related to governance, funding, operational planning, issues identification and resolution, enacting the transfer of responsibilities from other ministries and divisions, and policy and regulatory development. The ED will engage collaboratively with established branches and tribunals to support and implement positive organizational change.
Qualifications
Demonstrated senior public‑sector leadership experience with a strong record of building strategic relationships, navigating complex policy and organizational environments, and delivering outcomes that enhance service and business performance. Proven ability to lead full project life cycles, including policy development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of complex initiatives. Advanced leadership capability to articulate vision, direct multi‑disciplinary teams, and provide strategic advice to senior executives, stakeholders, and political partners. Highly developed political acuity with expertise in stakeholder engagement, governance, and complex budget oversight. Recognized for strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills, with an ability to lead through complexity, resolve critical issues, and deliver results in fast‑paced, high‑pressure environments.
A university degree and extensive policy related experience are required. A post graduate degree is highly desirable.
Salary
$5,758.44 - $7,567.65 bi-weekly ($150,295.28 - $197,515.67 yearly)
