Alberta Infrastructure designs, builds, manages, and maintains government-owned and operated facilities, and collaborates with other ministries to ensure that schools, hospitals, and government facilities infrastructure meet the needs of Alberta’s population. Role Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager, Engagement and Operations, in the Strategic Integration and Operations (SIO) Division's Operations and Administration Branch (OPA), the Engagement and Operations Coordinator (Coordinator) supports the Manager in working with all of the areas of the ministry to coordinate internal/external engagement; support projects associated with strategic priorities; and enhance Infrastructure's corporate culture by promoting a positive employee experience.
The Coordinator uses critical thinking and creative problem solving skills to support the department's goals, ensuring alignment with broader government objectives, and that the ministry's business interests are represented. The Coordinator provides technology support, coordination and project facilitation services on divisional and corporate initiatives, including secretariat support for both internal/external committees, divisional administrative and reporting processes, and other special projects including the hosting of quarterly new staff orientation sessions. The Coordinator will work with a range of internal stakeholders through new and established processes to obtain information, gather support for key initiatives, and complete critical engagement and operations tasks for the division and the department.
Key responsibilities for the Engagement and Operations Coordinator include but are not limited to:
- Providing project management, coordination and secretariat support to internal and external stakeholder engagement initiatives.
- Providing secretariat support for the Executive Directors Council.
- Leading and supporting department-wide new staff orientation initiatives that contribute to strategic employee development and talent mobilization initiatives.
- Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with other branches and divisions to ensure the successful and effective delivery of team initiatives.
- Providing surge capacity and support to the Manager on cross-divisional and cross-departmental corporate initiatives and projects.
- Provide technology support to support online initiatives.
The successful candidate will have:
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with a mix of internal and external stakeholders.
- High degree of political acumen.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Group facilitation and/or public speaking experience.
- Excellent project management, organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work within short turnaround periods.
- Proven ability to facilitate online engagement initiatives such as meetings, town halls, roundtables etc.

Qualifications

Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Arts, Business, Public Administration or related discipline.
- Two years of directly related experience.
Equivalency: Related experience or education (e.g., related diploma) may be considered as an equivalency on a one-for-one basis.
Assets:
- Experience with ARTS/Microsoft Suite of Products (Teams, Lists, PowerPoint etc)/Sharepoint Online.
- Experience writing government materials (emails, memos, letters, briefing notes etc).
- Project/event management.

This position is a Permanent, Full Time role with the standard weekly work hours of 36.25, Monday to Friday (8:15 am – 4:30 pm).
