The Automobile Insurance Rate Board (AIRB) is an independent regulatory body responsible for overseeing automobile insurance rating programs and delivering consumer education on auto insurance in Alberta.

Role Responsibilities
The Automobile Insurance Rate Board (AIRB) is an independent agency established through legislation to regulate automobile insurance pricing in Alberta. Reporting to the President of Treasury Board and Minister of Finance, the AIRB’s mandate is to ensure a fair and sustainable insurance marketplace by independently reviewing and approving insurance rating programs, while also providing clear, accessible information to consumers.
We are seeking a Digital Media Specialist to enhance AIRB’s digital presence through the development and execution of effective online strategies. In this role, you will manage social media channels, oversee website content, and lead email marketing initiatives. You will also support the development of key messages, correspondence, and presentations to engage and inform external audiences.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Developing and executing digital media products (web content, multimedia assets, social media, and email communications) that clearly translate AIRB's technical insurance rate information into accessible, accurate, and user-friendly content for diverse audiences.
- Supporting increased public awareness and understanding of automobile insurance rate-setting processes by producing engaging digital storytelling, visualizations, and plain-language content aligned with AIRB's mandate for transparency.
- Maintaining and continuously improving AIRB's web presence by ensuring content is current, accessible (WCAG-compliant), and optimized for usability, searchability, and performance across devices.
- Monitoring and analyzing digital performance metrics (e.g., web analytics, engagement data) to inform content strategies, optimize campaigns, and improve audience reach and engagement.
- Applying and upholding AIRB's visual identity, tone of voice, and branding standards across all digital media, ensuring a cohesive and professional presentation that reinforces organizational credibility.

Qualifications
University graduation in marketing, communications, or other related field; no experience required; or equivalent as described below.
Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:
- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in the areas of multimedia and web design, and digital media applications
Assets:
- Experience in public and private sector environments
- Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative, and WordPress
- Knowledge of digital media accessibility

This position is a permanent full-time role with the standard weekly work hours of 36.25, Monday to Friday (in office).
