Role Responsibilities

Are you willing to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify risks, streamline processes, and support strategic initiatives of the Motor Vehicles and Registries Administration (MVRA) Branch within Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction Ministry? Reporting to the Team Lead of Contracts Administration, the responsibilities of the Contract Analyst will include but not limited to:
- Participating in the assessment, planning and implementation of vendor contracts that supply services and goods to support Motor Vehicles & Registries Administration (MVRA) operations.
- Monitoring and managing the contracts provided through regular operational meetings, validating invoices, coordinating response between the vendor and business areas.
- Monitoring and analyzing the delivery of services, cost of services, service requests and coordinating with others for quality assurance.
- Creation of purchase orders for all service contracts, monitoring total contract spend and estimate, ensure invoices are submitted by the vendor and approval by the departments are provided accurately, assess and evaluate delays and issues that may arise with invoices submission.
- Acting as a liaison among the vendor community and business areas within the division and other stakeholder teams such as Legal Services, Finance, Contract Management Unit, and Procurement support teams.
- Managing the procurement and contracting activities through the entire life cycle for MVRA.
- Acting as a single point of contact on behalf of the Contracts Administration team with legal services, contract management unit and finance.
The incumbent is expected to have :
- Consultation, interpersonal, and facilitation skills to consult, negotiate, and resolve conflict with stakeholders often having varying perspectives, expectations, requirements, and priorities.
- Excellent Communication skills both written and verbal.
- Excellent Multi-Tasking and Time Management skills with the ability to work independently under strict timelines.
- In-depth knowledge of contract law, contract preparation and contract management skills.
- Strong analytical skill and detailed-oriented.

Qualifications
University graduation in a related field (such as Business, Commerce, Supply Chain Management ) plus 2 years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described below
Equivalency:
a) Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:
i) 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
ii) 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.
Or,
b) One year of certificate in related field plus 5 years progressively responsible related experience.
Or,
c) Two year Diploma in related field plus 2 years progressively responsible related experience.
Required

Assets
• Experience working with Government or public sector organization.
• Experience navigating the Government Of Alberta 1GX system or any other related application interface.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suites and SAP Ariba.
