Alberta Infrastructure designs, builds, manages and maintains government-owned and operated facilities, and collaborates with other ministries to ensure that schools, hospitals and government facilities infrastructure meet the needs of Alberta’s population. Role Responsibilities

 

Reporting to the Director, this position is accountable for the development and ongoing execution of Infrastructure’s Continuous Improvement program methodology and ministry deployment. The position is responsible for improving upon the Ministry framework, which includes using proven Business Process Improvement expertise to adapt a theoretical approach to fit Infrastructure’s business process design needs. This position will be responsible for following job duties:

 

  • Lead and oversee the implementation of key, complex, multi-project, cross-branch and/or cross division processes that have high strategic importance, ensuring impactful solutions are successful long term.
  • Review Lean 6 Sigma, different change management methodologies and best practices and adapt as required for the infrastructure business model.
  • Train, coach and mentor Continuous Improvement staff in the methodology, tools, change and stakeholders’ management and project management to ensure adequate competencies and skills to achieve the project goals.
  • Lead is the development and alignment of the training, methodology, reporting, project approach, and various roles across the ministry as they relate to Continuous Improvement. Assess and determine the overall enterprise process management needs of Infrastructure Clients both internal and external
  • Improve upon a performance measurement and evaluation framework for the enterprise processes, aligning with strategic planning and approaches for performance measurement and evaluation, and driving continuous improvement of the portfolio of processes.
  • Lead the development of Enterprise Process management charts, frameworks, schematics, and plans.
  • Work with Executive Directors and Directors across Infrastructure to identify the key cross divisional processes that drive successful completion of the Ministry’s priority initiatives and important ongoing work.
  • Promote Continuous Improvement through written communications, verbal presentations, and conversations throughout the ministry.
  • Work with business areas, communications, and other professionals to promote effective change management with the adaption of new business processes. This will involve providing coaching, advice, and problem-solving support to the leaders of the business areas.
     

Qualifications

 

  • University graduation in a related field PLUS 6 years progressively responsible related experience
  • Equivalencies may be considered on a basis of one year of education for one year of experience or one year of experience for one year of education

 

Other Requirements:

  • Black Belt certification in Lean Six Sigma
  • Business management, project management, change management, process improvement and related tools and techniques

 

Experience or knowledge that will be considered an asset: 

  • Master Black Belt certification 
  • Certification in change management (PROSCII), Project Management, or facilitation
  • Experience in supporting the development or deployment of a LSS or CI program from within a large organization
  • Experience in coaching process improvement projects, including Lean, Six Sigma, or LSS.
