Seniors, Community and Social Services provides supports for seniors, families and communities, and helps Albertans access disability services, financial supports, services for the homeless, and other social-based programs.

Role Responsibilities
Rosecrest Home provides 24/7 services for 18 children and youth who permanently reside at the facility; in addition, offers out of home respite care for up to 9 children and youth that are physically disabled with complex medical needs. In this position, you will provide a friendly, supportive, and caring environment for these vulnerable children.
Key responsibilities include:
Ensuring a clean and well-maintained building and grounds:
• Wash, fold and delivers clean clothing to resident’s room. Distribution of clean linen to rooms.
• Disinfecting of bed, furniture, equipment, etc.
• Cleaning commercial kitchen
• Formulas and meals preparations, grocery shopping, and other kitchen related duties.
• Assisting with kitchen duties and meal prep as needed.
• Loading bagged soiled linen for laundry pick up. Daily sanitizing of soiled linen room and diaper/incontinent containers.
• Delivering of supplies to Community Homes.
Efficient and effective movement of Individuals:
• Incumbent may have some Porter duties involving assisting with the physical movement of Individuals as required from time to time within the facility.

Adequate stock of supplies in all areas of facility:
• Restocking of items within building.
• Distribution of supplies
Safe building and grounds:
• Notify supervisor of health and safety concerns or issues.
• Complete heavy cleaning and minor maintenance requirements.

Qualifications
Some high school education and at least 6 months related experience in industrial cleaning and the use of cleaning materials. Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.
Assets:
• Completion of all mandatory and necessary training applicable to each worksite. (First Aid, CPR, Health Care, Back Care, WHMIS, Abuse Protocol, FOIP, etc., and all OLE training as required) Training requirements may vary in some worksites.
• Familiar with Residential and Support Services (RSS) Policies and Procedures/practices
• Ability to operate specialized and adaptive equipment for physical handicaps (i.e., wheelchairs, lifts, specialized mattresses and beds, century tubs, shower trolley, etc.) as required by each worksite.
• Ability to operate audio-visual equipment/standard office equipment (i.e., computer, fax machine, etc.)
• Ability to operate basic household appliances and fire extinguishers (i.e., fire/security systems, etc.)
• Observation and assessment skills and the ability to respond appropriately to crisis or emergency situations.
• Ability to adapt to changing work environments.
Required:
1. Driver’s license with clean abstract.
2. Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
3. Valid Criminal Records Check (CRC) with Vulnerable Sector check
