Service dogs perform specific tasks or behaviours to help people with visible and non-visible disabilities such as epilepsy, PTSD, diabetes or mobility limitations. Guide dogs support people with low or no vision by navigating around obstacles, finding bus stops and elevators, and similar tasks. Both guide dogs and service dogs are trained and tested to ensure safety in public. By law, qualified guide and service dog teams have the right to access any location where the public is allowed.

Role Responsibilities
The Community Programs and Partnerships (CPP) Unit in the Preventive Community Services Division of the Ministry of Assisted Living and Social Services is looking for a motivated, experienced grant and contract professional looking to take on a new challenge. If you’re looking to lead a small team of grant administrators that provide grants to municipalities, and civil society organizations that are making a difference in the lives of Albertans, this could be the opportunity for you!
Reporting to the Manager, Grant Administration and Accountability, the Team Lead, Civil Society and Community Initiatives (CSCI) Program & Grants Lead contributes significantly to the effective grant delivery to support low income transit, service dogs, food security, other civil society organizations and priority grant programs by serving as the primary program contact with stakeholders.
The position:
· Is responsible for leading, planning, and developing a coordinated grant management and procurement process for the Community Programs and Partnerships (CPP) Unit's Low Income Transit Program, Service Dog Program and Food Security Program and all other grants/contracts as needed to ensure program integrity and efficient and effective process and effective stakeholder relationships;
· Develops and maintains relationships with key stakeholders and is the branch's primary resource to communicate timely and accurate information related to all aspects of grants and contracts within the Community Programs and Partnerships (CPP) unit;
· Leads all aspects of grant and contract reporting to ensure financial accountability;
· Leads the development and continuous improvement of templates and documents to accurately reflect policy and processes and supports grant evaluation activities and provides input into opportunities for continuous improvement;
· Leads a team of professionals responsible for grant administration and program development and delivery;
· Provides policy and legislation support and development.

Qualifications
University graduation in a related field plus 4 years progressively responsible related experience (A degree in public or business administration, social sciences, community development, education, etc.) A master degree or accounting designation is an asset.
Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of: 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education

Assets
Preference will be given to the candidate with the following assets and knowledge
· Knowledge of government grant administration to municipalities, Metis Settlements, and/or civil society organizations
· Stakeholder relations practices
· Knowledge of municipal government and civil society organization’s governance, structures, and administrative practices
· Experience leading a team
· Extensive Microsoft skills including advanced Microsoft excel skills, word, and databases.
· Excellent verbal and written communication.
· Proficiency in Excel for creating budget summaries, charts, and tables, with a strong foundation in arithmetic skills.
