This position reports directly to the Manager, Business Transformation. Under the supervision of the Manager, the incumbent provides evidence-informed, strategic counsel to clients on priority projects to assist them in supporting people at all levels through change, transition, workplace disruption; developing, maintaining and improving Organizational Change Management (OCM) methodologies, strategies, tools and templates; and developing presentations, communications and training materials to help support the Ministry's operational need for 1GX. 
 
The Business Transformation team is a fast paced and dynamic environment with a focus on collaboration and teamwork. We are potentially a high volume service provider that offers critical operational support and future 1GX implementation expertise and services to a broad range of divisions within the Ministry and a significant client group outside of the department. 
 
The unit is a relatively new concept within the Ministry and the Alberta Government, encompassing new and evolving services and expertise. Reporting directly to the Manager, Business Transformation, you will be responsible for providing services that include: 
 
Working within a small team (2 in total), this position is critical to the ongoing support of the Ministry in 1GX operational activities as well as other implementation pieces that the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution will bring.

 

Your responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Participating in the cross-government Primary Change Advocate Meetings, providing attendees with relevant OCM information including methodology developments and listening to feedback so that potential follow-up work can be identified.
  • Assisting the Manager with the development, execution and evaluation of a Ministry-wide OCM strategy along-side the development of the Business Transformation responsibilities and accountabilities.
  • Providing support to all employees experiencing high volumes of change, disruption and people issues in their workplaces. The diversity in process and practice has led to a number of challenges throughout the planning, implementation and sustainment phases.
  • The transformation of current workflows, defining organizational structures, configuration of employee work schedules and assignment of system roles.
  • Working directly with the 1GX team and other stakeholders to ensure the Ministry's needs are being appropriately addressed and that business continuity is adequately maintained.

Qualifications

University graduation in a related field (i.e. Sociology, Psychology, Human Ecology, Behavioral Sciences etc.), plus 4 years progressively responsible related experience in project work, research, evaluation and/or change management.

 

Equivalencies will be considered as described below:

 

A related 2 year diploma plus 6 years related experience.
 

A related 3 year diploma applied degree, plus 5 years of related experience.

 

A related Master's degree, plus 2 years of applied experience.

 

Candidates with lesser qualifications may be considered at a lower classification and salary.

Notes

Assets:

  • Certification in Organizational Change Management (OCM) through Prosci
  • Experience with OCM methodologies
  • Experience with ERP systems (i.e. 1GX)
