Alberta Infrastructure designs, builds, manages and maintains government-owned and operated facilities, and collaborates with other ministries to ensure that schools, hospitals and government facilities infrastructure meet the needs of Alberta’s population. Role Responsibilities

Reporting to the Caretaker Foreman, the Caretaker cleans and maintains the interior of the assigned facility to support client functional program requirements and ensure asset value is maintained. This position will support the Legislative Building.
 

The primary responsibilities for the Caretaker are (but not limited to): 
 

  • Participation with general cleaning of building according to Task and Frequency schedule
  • Assist with event booking set-ups and take downs
  • Maintain excellent client relationships in an expeditious response
  • Back-up other Caretakers as required.
     

This Caretaker operates within a demanding, time sensitive, and quality framework. Developing and maintaining positive client relationships is a key requirement. Clients are the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, Treasury Board and Finance, and Executive Council.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: High school education, PLUS 6 months of related experience.
 

Special Requirement: Physically able to lift and handle the caretaking equipment associated with position assignment. 
 

Directly related education or experience considered based on: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of: 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education

 
Assets:
 

  • Strong communication and customer service skills, both written and verbal.
  • A good understanding of industry-related safety procedures and WHMIS regulations 
  • Knowledge of custodial practices, machinery, and related equipment 
  • Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control. 

Notes

This position is a permanent, full-time role with the standard weekly work hours of 36.25hrs Monday to Friday.
