The Ministry of Children and Family Services funds programs and services to support vulnerable children, youth, families, and individuals to live safely and succeed in Alberta. This includes providing services and resources to protect children and youth from abuse and neglect, and effectively address harm that has placed them in need of intervention. Mentoring and support services are available to youth transitioning into healthy, productive adults. Role Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager, CI Program Analysis and Performance, this position will contribute to the continuous improvement of the Child Intervention System through advanced data analysis, performance metrics and interpretation of program data.

Key responsibilities include:

•    Conduct research and provide analysis on trends and patterns and proactively raise concern, and suggest mitigation strategies
•    Review, improve and develop reports to support the work of the Division and Department
•    Provide technical support to Branches across the Ministry to support monitoring, tracking and evaluation of service quality indicators
•    Provides issues management, including coordination of issues, opportunities between the Unit and the Division in related to data accuracy, analysis and results

Drawing upon your superior data analysis, communication, presentation and consultation skills, you will build collaborative environments with various stakeholders and program areas to enhance best practices and continuous improvement in program delivery. Your proven critical thinking, analytical, and research skills will assist you in refining data through customized reports, developing indicators and recommendations regarding program data.

Qualifications

University graduation in a related field (i.e. Social Science, Business Administration or Public Administration/Management, Mathematical and Statistical Sciences) along with 2 years related experience in conducting analysis, data reporting and applied research (quantitative and qualitative) is required; or equivalent as described below.

Equivalencies:
Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:
•    1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
•    1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

Assets:
•    Data Analysis & Reporting Expertise: Proficient in Report Builder, SQL, and Power BI for data querying, visualization, and dashboard development. Experienced in creating clear, actionable reports to inform decision-making.
•    Research & Analytical Skills: Strong knowledge of research methodologies, statistical tools, and advanced analytical techniques to evaluate programs and identify improvement opportunities.
•    Project Management & Solution Development: Skilled in planning, process mapping, stakeholder engagement, and solution development to manage complex projects effectively.
•    Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear, simplified manner. Adept at engaging diverse stakeholders, gathering feedback, and maintaining positive relationships.
•    Cultural Awareness & Sensitivity: Strong understanding of Indigenous issues, along with a demonstrated respect for diverse cultural groups and the challenges they face.
•    Technical Proficiency & Multitasking: Advanced skills in Microsoft tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Power BI) with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and deliver quality results under tight timelines.

Notes

Temporary Position – This is one temporary position available and is anticipated to be 12 months in duration. This position requires working full time from the office for the initial 3 to 6 months with a possibility of hybrid arrangement being made.

Hours of Work: This position works Monday to Friday, 36.25-hours a week.
