The Financial Services Branch provides strategic corporate services for the Ministry of Public Safety and Emergency Services (PSES), including budget planning, financial operations, financial reporting, accounting, and internal control.
Role Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting the Financial Services Branch and ensuring smooth operations that impact the lives of Albertans every day.
Responsibilities:
- Be the go-to person for coordinating internal administrative activities.
- Provide senior-level support to the Executive Director and other leaders.
- Keep information flowing and ensure issues are resolved quickly.
- Prepare monthly financial forecasts and analyze variances using advanced Excel skills.
- Summarize financial data for meetings and assist with reviews of expenses and staffing.
- Support daily financial operations, including managing p-cards and handling ad hoc requests.

Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma and three years progressively, responsible, and related experience.
Equivalencies:
Directly related experience or education considered on the basis of: one year of experience for one year of education or one year of education for one year of experience.
Assets:
- Accounting related Diploma.
- Experience processing invoices and similar financial transactions.
- Experience with Excel (pivot tables, reporting, formulas and formatting) and Adobe Pro at advanced level.
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning Software, (i.e.,1GX).
