Alberta Technology and Innovation plays a strategic role within government to drive technology and innovation policy and strategy, and to create programs and tools that help grow Alberta’s economy, modernize government and provide better, faster and smarter government programs, services, and information. Role
As the Assistant Deputy Minister, Innovation, Privacy and Policy you will drive the delivery of the Alberta Technology and Innovation Strategy (ATIS) which will help position the province as an internationally recognized technology and innovation hub that attracts talent, business, and job-creating investment from across Canada and around the world.
Your strategic leadership will further regional economic development and advance initiatives that enhance the technology and innovation sector's growth. You will also be responsible for overseeing significant grant administration, evaluation and value-for-money performance of investments, as well as governance of Alberta Enterprise Corporation and Alberta Innovates. As the Chief Privacy Officer, you will ensure the protection of personal information and ethical use of data. Your excellent stakeholder relations will help to leverage partnerships with industry, academia, other government bodies, innovators, entrepreneurs, and technology business sector.
Qualifications
An influential and highly credible leader, your career reflects extensive executive management experience in information technology and information management, within large, dynamic, and complex organizations in either or both the private and public sectors. Additionally, you will have strong, demonstrated experience in innovation and economic development. You bring strengths in large scale grant administration and evaluation, policy development, data management, and privacy. Your advanced relationship building skills and deep expertise working with a variety of external stakeholder groups, combined with strengths in consultation, negotiation, conflict resolution, team-building, and exceptional communication abilities will round out your background. A related degree is preferred.
Salary
$6,216.88 – $8,158.94 bi-weekly ($162,260 – $212,948)
