Role

Reporting to the Associate Deputy Minister you will lead the mobilization of the Health Workforce Strategy, your scope is system wide as you influence legislative, policy and fiscal approaches that ensure the right balance of skilled professionals. You hold accountability for leading the design of physician and allied health provider compensation models and providing critical direction in the negotiation and implementation of health workforce collective and professional agreements.  A strategic connector, you serve a vital liaison role with the regulatory colleges and professional associations that govern and represent the health professions in Alberta (e.g. Alberta Medical Association, College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta, the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta, Alberta College of Pharmacists, etc.). Leveraging a shared commitment to sustainability, you will foster stakeholder relationships and engage key partners to shape strategies that align with the values, principles and emerging service directions of the health sector.

 

 

Qualifications

Your background includes significant related executive leadership experience with strengths in challenging multi-stakeholder environments. Your career demonstrates expertise in strategy development, public policy design and coordination, strengths in negotiating complex agreements, fiscal sustainability and experience implementing evidence-based practices and accountability approaches. You bring a reputation as a strategist and problem solver with proven success in driving innovation and renewal.  Understanding of health system priorities, the health workforce and issues with the political, economic and global environment is essential to your success.  A related degree is preferred.

 

 

Salary

$6,403.39 to $8,403.71 bi-weekly.  ($167,128 - $219,336 / annually)
