Role
As the Assistant Deputy Minister, Curriculum and Career Education, your progressive leadership and strategic oversight will shape and enable renewal in the development and continuous improvement of provincial curriculum in all subject areas, supported by quality learning and teaching resources in English and French for Alberta’s kindergarten to grade 12 (K-12) education system. Key accountabilities of this role include development of career education pathways and implementation of new provincial curriculum for all grades and subjects, engaging effectively with stakeholders and the public to ensure Alberta’s students have a world class curriculum to prepare them for a successful future. Additionally, your team will lead innovative approaches to working with curriculum through digital platforms and applications to support students and teachers in engaging with curriculum and support resources.  

 


Qualifications
As the successful candidate, you offer extensive executive experience with a thorough understanding of Alberta’s K-12 education system and its many stakeholders. You have demonstrated strengths in strategic planning, program and policy development, and have proven success in managing significant resources. You are recognized for success in developing collaborative relationships, brokering partnerships, balancing diverse needs and linking key stakeholder contributions to achieve outcomes. You have a proven track record in leading transformational initiatives and promoting innovative approaches. Strong political acumen, communication and stakeholder relations will be key to your success in this role.


A bachelor’s degree is required. A related graduate degree is preferred. 

 


Salary
$6035.80 - $7921.30 Bi-weekly ($157,534 - $206,745 yearly)
