Role
Reporting to the Deputy Minister of Jobs, Economy and Trade, the Assistant Deputy Minister (ADM), Child Care Delivery will lead the division to support access to affordable and high-quality childcare options for families, oversee licensing and monitoring of childcare programs and provide funding to licensed child care programs to support recruitment and retention of a qualified workforce.


The ADM will ensure compliance to the Early Learning and Child Care Act and will facilitate the initiatives that advance early learning and child care (ELCC) priorities, including the federal ELCC agreements, and the provincial Child Care transformation initiative. The ADM, Child Care Delivery will also be responsible for developing networks and building a collaborative environment with stakeholders: municipal, provincial and federal governments; the non-profit and private sectors; and with Jobs, Economy and Trade clients.

 

 

Qualifications
This pivotal role demands an influential and highly credible leader with extensive senior management experience in complex and multi-stakeholder, cross-sector environments. Child care is a rapidly transforming sector. In order to be successful in this position, you will need a passion for and commitment to innovation and change management, experience in program development and implementation, and the ability to balance a quickly shifting and growing workload.  You will have a successful track record in guiding and supporting the development and implementation of policy, quality assurance and continuous improvement systems that are outcome-based. You have a demonstrated track record of building collaborative relationships and developing strategic partnerships with key stakeholders. You are known for consistently delivering high-quality results when implementing multiple complex initiatives and priorities, often in ambiguous environments with tight time frames and high accountability. As a transformational leader, you are skilled at empowering teams and inspiring a culture of change and progress.

 
A related post-secondary degree is preferred. 

 

 

Salary
$6,035.80-$7,921.30 bi-weekly ($157,534 - $206,745 annually)
