Role Responsibilities

Museum Shop Associate (1): This position strives not only to assist with generation of revenue to support the Museum but is key to providing a tangible Museum memory for visitors. The Museum Shop Associate will need to have excellent customer service skills, the ability to promote products being sold within the shop and be comfortable answering any visitor enquiries. This position will also be stocking the shop according to the merchandising plan, monitoring theft, and ensuring the appearance of the shop is clean and orderly.

Admissions Associate (2): This position will often be the first point of contact for museum guests. They will be the welcoming face that orients guests to the building and answer any questions visitors might have. Duties will include selling tickets, annual membership, collecting revenue fees, basic orientation tours, and most importantly- providing outstanding customer service!

Café Server (2): This position will be the first point of contact for Museum Café guests. Servers welcome guests to the Café, discussing menu and services as well as answering any questions visitors might have. Duties will include customer service, cleaning and sanitizing, collecting revenue, and basic Museum knowledge sharing.  Experience in the food industry and food safety certification would be an asset.
  

  • You will be able to demonstrate your systems thinking by acknowledging how your services affect the museum.
  • Your agility will enable you to change directions when appropriate and identify potential solutions to sudden issues.
  • Building collaborative environments is essential to the positions as you will need to rely on your teammates and supervisor to provide the best experience possible for guests.


Your ability to use your creative problem solving will be essential to find solutions for visitors when faced with issues and also find innovative ways to create a better experience in general for guests.

Qualifications

High School Diploma is required for this position

Assets:

  • Related experience in retail, tourism or hospitality.
  • Customer Service experience
  • Experience handling cash, and accounting
  • Food safety certification would be an asset


Equivalency: Directly related experience considered on the basis of one year of experience for one year of education.

Notes

The temporary wage position(s) for the summer season, with anticipated start date in April 2026, and continuing until September 2026.

These positions require availability for weekdays, weekends, evenings and holidays.
