Assisted Living and Social Services (ALSS) provides supports for seniors, families, and communities, and helps Albertans access disability services, continuing care, financial supports, affordable housing, services for the homeless, and other social-based programs. Role Responsibilities
As the Accommodations Coordinator, you will perform technical, analytical, consultative and support work for the Accommodations team and will be the primary ministry contact for all facility-related services.
You will be responsible for providing furniture layout options and schematic drawings for small and large accommodation projects and furniture work order requests. You will also consult with the Accommodations team and Infrastructure representatives to identify furniture requirements, develop layout options and provide recommendations for recycled or re-purposed furniture to support the effective use of ministry-occupied space in accordance with Government of Alberta standards and guidelines.
You will provide comprehensive research, analysis and project management support to the Accommodations team. Using your project management skills, you will manage the planning and implementation of low complexity Small Tenant Improvement, provide AutoCAD drawing services to the unit, coordinate staff moves, maintain furniture inventories and current floor plans, create project documentation and support the Accommodations team on both small and large tenant projects.
You will bring to this position the ability to solve problems creatively, well developed analytical skills, have a strategic focus and the ability make decisions and possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal. You will have an in-depth understanding of project management processes such as goal setting, timeline development and monitoring as you will be responsible for managing projects from start to finish. You will be client focused and utilized your active listening skills to understand client needs.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- University graduation in a related field (Interior Design) with no experience required.
- Experience working with AutoCAD is required.
- Candidates must have a valid driver’s license, as travel is a requirement of this role.
Demonstrated knowledge of technical aspects of accommodations (architectural, mechanical, electrical, telecommunications, building codes, and ability to read floor plans) will be considered an asset.
Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:
- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; OR
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

This is a temporary/secondment employment opportunity ending March 31, 2027.
