The Financial and Administrative Shared Services Division in Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction is responsible for the province-wide administration of the Access to information (ATI) Act. In addition, the division delivers the ATI program for all Government of Alberta departments, and some of their agencies, boards, and commissions.

Role Responsibilities

Financial and Administrative Shared Services in Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction is responsible for the province-wide administration of the Access to Information Act (ATI). In addition, the division delivers the ATI program for Government of Alberta departments, and some of their agencies, boards, and commissions.

 

Reporting to the Access to Information (ATI) Coordinator, you will work as a member of a team delivering access to information services in accordance with applicable legislation, policies, and processes to enable compliance with the ATI Act.

 

In this position, you will provide support to the ATI Coordinator and Senior ATI Advisors in the management of access to information requests under the Access to Information Act (ATI). Your responsibilities will include processing ATI requests and providing advice and recommendations on access matters. You will consult with clients internally and externally, process cross department requests, advise on the application of sections of the ATI Act, and more.

Qualifications

University graduation in a related field (such as Public Administration, Law, Business); no experience required. Equivalencies will be considered as under:

  • Two Year diploma in a related field with a minimum of two years of directly related experience in applying legislation, policy and/or ATI and/or experience with Access issues
  • One Year Certificate in a related field with a minimum of three years of directly related experience in applying legislation, policy and/or ATI and/or experience with Access issues
  • No formal education with four years of directly related experience in applying legislation, policy and/or ATI and/or experience with Access issues

The following will be considered assets:

  • Experience in an information access specific role.
  • Experience with the Access to Information (ATI) Act.
  • Graduation from the Information Access and Protection of Privacy (IAPP) certificate program from the University of Alberta.
  • Experience in facilitating training and/or participation in work groups and/or committees

Notes

There is one permanent full-time role with the standard weekly work hours of 36.25, Monday to Friday.

 

This position is located at the Jasper Building, 10405 Jasper Ave in Edmonton.

 

Hybrid or remote work settings are NOT available.
