Detailed Role Description:
The Workforce Policy Branch provides strategic direction for corporate workforce policies and programs for the Alberta Public Service (APS). This competition will be used to fill a Senior Policy Analyst position, supporting the Benefits and Pension Policy (BPP) unit. BPP is responsible for the design, development and administration of pension and benefits frameworks and programs for the APS. 

 

As the Senior Policy Analyst, you will provide policy development leadership to support PSC’s strategic policy agenda to ensure an efficient and effective public service working for Albertans. This role identifies and develops evidence-based policy and frameworks related to human resource and workforce issues that have impact across the APS.

Qualifications

A University graduation in a related field (e.g., political science, business, human resources) plus 4 years of progressively responsible related experience. 


Equivalency:
Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of: 
•    1 year of education for 1 year of experience, or
•    1 year of experience for 1 year of education.


Experience in the following areas is preferred:
•    Experience with employee group benefit plans and pensions. 
•    A professional designation related to benefits or pensions. 
•    Experience in a corporate HR role. 
•    Experience interpreting policy documents and providing policy advice. 
•    Experience developing effective relationships and working with multiple interests to develop shared understanding and outcomes.
