Executive Council provides the Premier and cabinet with strategic coordination and policy analysis to inform decision-making on the issues that affect Albertans. This involves providing governance support to cabinet and cabinet committees, coordinating the development of policy to align with the government’s agenda, and coordinating the review and approval of legislation.

Join us as a Manager of Business Planning & Reporting and play a pivotal role in enhancing government transparency and accountability.
As the Manager of Business Planning & Reporting, you’ll be the backbone of tracking and reporting for key government initiatives. In this position, you’ll develop and implement innovative business processes and technology solutions that enable accurate and timely updates on policy progress across ministries. You'll provide essential insights and reporting to empower decision-makers and support the delivery of high-quality policy outcomes.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead Tracking & Reporting of Government Mandate Progress: You’ll develop systems to track and consolidate information on policy initiatives, transforming data into insights and visualizations that highlight government progress.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work alongside departments across ministries to foster efficient reporting practices and develop tools that streamline communication and transparency.
- Drive Technology Solutions: Spearhead the ongoing development and maintenance of our Initiative Tracking System, ensuring it remains a best-in-class resource for policy and legislative reporting.
- Provide Strategic Guidance: Act as a trusted advisor, training client ministries on reporting best practices and offering insights to support Cabinet decision-making processes.

Qualifications
University graduation in a field related to the position assignment, supplemented by a minimum of four years related experience. Related experience or education may be considered as an equivalency on a one for one basis.
Assets:
- Project management experience
- Expert communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Strong Political acumen and understanding of Alberta’s political system, the Government of Alberta’s mandates, protocols, processes, policies, directives, and structure
- Experience working with high profile members of government (Ministers, Deputy Ministers, etc.)
- Experience working with the Initiative Tracking System or a similar corporate information tracking and reporting system

Hours of Work: 36.25/week
Location: This position is to be based out of the Queen Elizabeth II Building in Edmonton, Alberta.
