As the Rapid Execution Delivery (RED) Director, you will lead the Government of Alberta’s enterprise rapid‑execution AI delivery function, transforming urgent ministry needs into production‑ready digital solutions that improve services, strengthen operational efficiency, and accelerate modernization. This role oversees multidisciplinary teams, applies frontier AI engineering practices, and ensures every solution meets the highest standards of security, privacy, accessibility, and responsible AI governance. You will be responsible for
- Driving rapid AI solution delivery by leading multiple concurrent teams to turn urgent government priorities into secure, production‑ready digital products that deliver measurable value in short timeframes.
- Building and maturing an AI application factory, establishing reusable patterns, technical frameworks, DevSecOps practices, and shared delivery systems that increase throughput and reduce duplication across ministries.
- Embedding responsible AI, privacy, cybersecurity, and governance safeguards into every stage of delivery to ensure human oversight, risk mitigation, compliance, and public trust.
- Shaping cross‑government demand by engaging senior leaders, clarifying high‑value problems, guiding discovery and prioritization, and providing clear, plain‑language advice on feasibility, risks, and implementation options.
- Leading people, vendors, and resources in a high‑intensity delivery environment, setting expectations, developing talent, managing budgets and contracts, and fostering a psychologically safe, accountable culture.
- Ensuring adoption, sustainment, and operational readiness so solutions move beyond prototypes in short timeframes into real-world use with service ownership, documentation, monitoring, and support pathways in place.
- Measuring performance and value realization, tracking cycle time, throughput, quality, user satisfaction and operational impact, and using evidence to continuously improve delivery models and safeguards.
