The Office of the Statutory Director (OSD) oversees CI applications, client pathways, navigation supports, and coordination with partners across the health, justice, and social sectors.

We are recruiting two leadership roles - Director, Recovery Pathways and Director, Navigation and Intake to help build and operate this provincewide program.

Reporting to the Statutory Director both Directors are responsible for planning, developing, and delivering key components of the CI program. They ensure compliance with the CI Act and relevant privacy legislation (Health Information Act, FOIP Act). Both roles collaborate closely with the Compassionate Intervention Commission, oversee unit staff performance and training, manage budgets and reporting, prepare materials for senior leadership, and build strong relationships with partners and stakeholders across the system.

  • Lead intake, application coordination, and navigation support services for individuals entering or seeking help through the CI program.
  • Build operational processes with partners to support applicants and individuals needing addiction-related guidance.
  • Coordinate CI applications and ensure the Commission has complete, timely information; collect records from multiple data sources as ordered.
  • Provide navigation support and warm hand-offs to individuals not eligible for the CI program.
  • Lead and train staff, ensuring alignment and coordination with the Recovery Pathways unit.

Director, Recovery Pathways, key responsibilities:

  • Lead operational delivery of client recovery supports and system navigation throughout the CI program.
  • Develop and refine processes with partners (e.g., Commission, Recovery Alberta, Technology & Innovation) to support client movement through treatment and recovery services.
  • Coordinate client progress and reports for timely Commission hearings; share Commission Orders to guide service provider actions.
  • Develop intensive case management for clients leaving the CI program and establish after-care pathways.
  • Lead, mentor, and cross-train staff to ensure agility and compliance with legislative timelines.
