Civil Crown Counsel 1 (Less than four years of related experience): $3,742.51 to $4,714.48 bi-weekly ($97,679- $123,048 /year)
Civil Crown Counsel 2 (Four years to 11 years of related experience): $5,303.39 to $6,332.52 bi-weekly ($138,418- $165,278/year)
Civil Crown Counsel 3 (More than 11 years of related experience): $7,063.55 to $7,832.16 bi-weekly ($184,359- $204,419 /year)

Role Responsibilities
Alberta Justice, Legal Services Division has a Temporary opportunity for a lawyer to join the Infrastructure and Transportation and Economic Corridors (ITEC) Legal Team as a Barrister & Solicitor.
In this position you will work in a collaborative team environment to provide advice on a variety of client projects for delivery by the Province. You will identify and research relevant legal issues; ascertain all relevant facts from the client; research, review and synthesize relevant case law, legislation and policies; draft thorough and clear legal advice. As part of the team, you will provide legal and strategic advice for the life cycle of various capital projects to ensure they are built in a way that maximizes value for Albertans.
The responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Identifying legal risks and providing conclusions or options to mitigate risk throughout the life cycle of a significant client projects including legislation, contract management and public procurement.

Executing legislative policy, and operational advice under the Traffic Safety Act, the Real Property Governance Act and any other legislation for the client ministries.

Providing exceptional legal advice to the client ministries.
This position requires an extreme attention to detail and the incumbent is required to:

Qualifications
Requirements:

A Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or Juris Doctor (JD)

The candidate must be an active member or must have immediate eligibility for full membership with the Law Society of Alberta

Experience providing legal advice in the following areas are the assets for the role:

Hours of work: Monday – Friday, 8:15 am - 4:30 pm (36.25/week)
Positions Currently available: One (1) Temporary salaried position up to 1 year.
Location: 9th Floor, Petwin Tower, 10707 - 100 Avenue NW, Edmonton, Alberta T5J 3M1.
