The alis careers, learning, and employment website, at https://alis.alberta.ca, is a multi-ministry information service that supports Albertans in their lifelong career journeys. Receiving 3.6 million visits and 14 million pageviews a year, alis provides Albertans with a wide range of labour market information, career advice, and interactive planning tools that can be accessed on a self-serve basis or through a career advisor.

Housed within the Employment Services branch of the Assisted Living and Social Services ministry, the cross-functional alis team collaborates closely with partners in Education and Childcare; Advanced Education; Jobs, Economy, Trade and Immigration; and other ministries across government.

 

Role Responsibilities

Alis Web Project Integrators are senior generalists and tacticians on the alis team, responsible for driving complex digital and operational projects through to completion. Alongside external vendors and Alis Strategists, they translate strategic objectives into practical, high-quality deliverables that support Albertans’ career, learning, and employment needs.

Reporting to the Manager, Alis Digital Platform, the position is responsible for the following core outcomes:

    • Lead the planning, scoping, scheduling, and delivery of complex digital projects, balancing time, budget, scope, quality, and dependencies.
    • Translate business and strategic requirements into clear, actionable work plans for vendors and internal partners.
    • Conduct advanced business analysis to gather requirements, assess existing systems, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.
    • Coordinate cross-functional work involving web technology, labour market information, career advice content, and curriculum resources.
    • Provide quality assurance, testing oversight, and issue resolution to ensure solutions meet business and user needs.
    • Serve as a force multiplier for the alis team by providing operational coverage, surge capacity, and cross-portfolio support to Strategists and Central Supports.
    • Contribute directly to content management, system configuration, testing, deployment, and validation activities as required.
    • Support vendor management activities, including defining scope of work, reviewing deliverables, and approving invoices in accordance with government procurement processes.
    • Support limited product ownership opportunities over time, including contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and longer-term product thinking with guidance and mentorship.

Qualifications

Requirements:
University graduation (Bachelor’s degree) in a related field such as Business, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, plus a minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible related experience.

Equivalency:
One year of education may be considered equivalent to one year of experience.

Assets and Job-Related Experience
•    Advanced experience in digital project management and business analysis. 
•    Demonstrated ability to translate strategic objectives into tactical, deliverable project work. 
•    Experience working with web content management systems and digital platforms. 
•    Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. 
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills for working with technical and non-technical audiences. 
•    Experience coordinating work across multiple stakeholders and external vendors. 
•    Familiarity with Government of Alberta procurement and contracting processes (e.g., 1GX purchasing) is an asset. 
•    This role is well suited to strong generalists who are able to continuously adapt, learn, and operate across multiple domains rather than within a single specialization.
