Salary: $23.98 to $30.34 per hour
Wage Benefits:
In addition to regular wages, regular Wage employees receive 11.6% in lieu of benefits and vacation leave:
• 5.6 percent of regular wage earnings instead of paid holidays.
• 6 percent of regular wage earnings instead of annual vacation pay.
In addition to the regular wages and the additional pay in lieu of benefits and vacation, regular wage employees are entitled to shift premium pay:
• $3.25 per hour for weekends and holidays
• $2.75 per hour for evenings

Hidden Valley Ski Resort is located in Cypress Hills Provincial Park, (also known as Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park). The Park spans the Southeast corner of Alberta and the Southwest corner of Saskatchewan. The unique landscape of the area contrasts the surrounding prairie landscapes, making it an exciting destination for winter recreation opportunities.

Role Responsibilities
Become a Ski or Snowboard Instructor at Hidden Valley Ski Resort! Join our team in beautiful Cypress Hills Provincial Park and share your passion for skiing or snowboarding with others. As a Snow School Instructor, you’ll deliver engaging, safe, and fun lessons to guests of all ages and skill levels. If you enjoy skiing or snowboarding and love teaching others, we encourage you to apply today!
Snow School Instructor duties include, but are not limited to:
• Providing safe, fun, and engaging ski and/or snowboard lessons to guests of all ages and abilities, including school groups, multi-week programs, group lessons, and private lessons.
• Delivering consistent, high-quality guest experiences that reflect Hidden Valley’s standards of service.
• Assisting with snow and ice removal from walkways using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Supporting the setup and cleanup of ski hill facilities.
• Assisting in other departments as required to support overall operations.
This position primarily works outdoors in variable winter weather conditions and cold temperatures and requires you to have great physical stamina. Working across departments may be required to fulfil operational needs.

Qualifications
Required:
• High School diploma and one year of related experience.
• Minimum Level 1 CSIA (Ski Instructor Certification) or CASI (Snowboard Instructor Certification) or equivalent.
• Prior to hire, recognized current Intermediate Standard First Aid and CPR Level “C”/AED Certificates are needed, and must be maintained as current for the entire period of hire by the employee.
• Clean criminal record check with vulnerable sector.
Additional Assets to be successful in the role:
• One year of related experience in teaching, coaching or working with youth.
• Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of park facilities/services, especially Hidden Valley Ski Resort.
Minimum recruitment standards outline the minimum education and experience required for appointment to a job classification.
Notes
Terms of employment:
• Shifts are 8 hours a day, up to 40 hours a week.
• Candidates must be willing to work weekends and holidays, varying start dates from December 2026, until March 2027, pending end of ski season and operational needs.
• Multiple positions are available.
• Various low-cost housing options are available for rent in Elkwater.
• There is no public transportation to the Ski Resort, you must have reliable transportation to and from work. The Ski Resort is located about 10 minutes from Elkwater and about 40 minutes from Medicine Hat.
Any initial costs associated with obtaining required documents/checks as noted will be the responsibility of the candidate. However, some reimbursements may occur. Interview travel expenses will not be reimbursed. Out-of-province applicants can obtain the required documents/checks from the province they currently reside in.
