Classification and Salary:
Administrative Support 3 (01AS) – based on 40 hours per week 
$21.95 - $26.81 per hour

For all roles

In addition to regular wages, regular Wage employees receive 11.2% in lieu of benefits and vacation leave:
•    5.2 percent of regular wage earnings instead of paid holidays 
•    6 percent of regular wage earnings instead of annual vacation pay

In addition to the regular wages and the additional pay in lieu of benefits and vacation, regular wage employees are entitled to shift premium pay:
•    $3.25 per hour for weekends and holidays
•    $2.75 per hour for evenings

Hidden Valley Ski Resort is located in Cypress Hills Provincial Park, (also known as Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park). The Park spans the Southeast corner of Alberta and the Southwest corner of Saskatchewan. The unique landscape of the area contrasts the surrounding prairie landscapes, making it an exciting destination for winter recreation opportunities.

Cypress Hills Provincial Park (CHPP) is home to Hidden Valley Ski Resort (HV) as well as a diverse range of Cross Country Ski Trails. The Ski Resort is located on the Alberta side of the Park, 10 minutes from the town site of Elkwater, AB and 40 min from Medicine Hat, AB. Role Responsibilities

Are you looking for an opportunity to work at a Ski hill Resort in Southern Alberta as a Snow School Instructor? Snow School Instructors staff work as part of a team to provide ski hill guests with a positive, effective and efficient interaction and experience. If you like to ski and teach “how to ski” lessons, apply today!

Snow School Instructor duties include, but are not limited to:
•    Providing ski and/or snowboard lessons to members of the public of all ages, including school groups, multi-week lessons, group lessons and private lessons
•    Delivering consistent and positive guest experiences

This position primarily works outdoors in variable winter weather conditions and cold temperatures and requires you have great physical stamina. Working across departments may be required to fulfil operation needs.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
•    High School Diploma and one year experience
•    Minimum Level 1 CSIA (Ski Instructor Certification) or CASI (Snowboard Instructor Certification) or equivalent

Additional Assets to be successful in the role
•    Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
•    One year related experience such as teaching, coaching or working with youth an asset
•    Knowledge of park facilities/services, especially Hidden Valley Ski Resort

Notes

Terms of Employment:
•    Shifts are 8 hours a day, up to 40 hours a week.
•    Candidates must be willing to work weekends and holidays, varying start dates from December 1, 2024, until March 31, 2025, pending end of ski season and operational needs. 
•    Multiple positions are available.
•    Various low cost accommodations are available for rent in Elkwater.
•    There is no public transportation to the Ski Resort. You must have reliable transportation to and from work. The Ski Resort is located about 10 min from Elkwater and about 40 min from Medicine Hat.
