Wage Benefits:
In addition to regular wages, regular Wage employees receive 11.2% in lieu of benefits and vacation leave:
• 5.2 percent of regular wage earnings instead of paid holidays.
• 6 percent of regular wage earnings instead of annual vacation pay.
In addition to the regular wages and the additional pay in lieu of benefits and vacation, regular wage employees are entitled to shift premium pay:
• $3.25 per hour for weekends and holidays
• $2.75 per hour for evenings

Hidden Valley Ski Resort is located in Cypress Hills Provincial Park, (also known as Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park). The Park spans the Southeast corner of Alberta and the Southwest corner of Saskatchewan. The unique landscape of the area contrasts the surrounding prairie landscapes, making it an exciting destination for winter recreation opportunities.
The Ski Resort is located on the Alberta side of the park, 10 minutes from the town site of Elkwater, AB and 40 min from Medicine Hat, AB.

Role Responsibilities
Are you looking for an opportunity to work at a Ski Hill Resort in Southern Alberta as a Ski Patrol Supervisor? The Ski Hill Supervisor will work with the Ski Patrols as well as part of a team to provide ski hill guests with a positive and enjoyable skiing experience. Ski Patrol Supervisor duties include, but are not limited to:
• Supervising day-to-day operations of the ski patrol team, overseeing all facets of guest service, guest safety, mountain safety, medical care, on-hill maintenance and chair lift guest evacuation.
• Ensuring that daily scheduling of staff is adequate and appropriate for necessary patrol operations and communicating with staff about daily assignments and expectations.
• Ensuring accountability of patroller development by tracking the training performance and certifications within given deadlines; provide coaching and feedback in a timely manner.
• Demonstrating effective supervisory skills with regards to motivation, training and documented mid and end of season reviews.
• Facilitating and coordinating with other departments on daily opening and operation of the resort; communicating with other departments with issues that might affect their operations; weather conditions that might affect ski school, food service, lifts, etc.
• Assuming leadership role in major incidences including accidents, lift issues, special events, guest confrontations, or missing skier searches.
• Overseeing ski hill maintenance issues including closures, slope and trail conditions, protective padding, and general appearance of ski area.
This position primarily works outdoors in variable winter weather conditions and cold temperatures and requires you have great physical stamina. Working across departments may be required to fulfil operation needs.

Qualifications
Required:
• High School diploma plus one year related experience, including supervisory and skiing related experience.
If successful, you will need to provide prior to employment:
• Advanced First Aid and Advanced CPR Certification.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent and Driver’s Abstract, less than 6 demerits.
Additional Assets to be successful in this role:
• Canadian Ski Patrol certification is an advantage.
• Demonstrated advanced skiing or snowboarding ability.
• Ability to maintain composure during high-stress emergency incidents.
• Good understanding of facility operations and structure; experience in ski hill operations.
• Experience operating a snowmobile.
• Knowledge of park facilities/services, especially Hidden Valley Ski Resort.
• Proficient with computer applications and ability to complete administrative duties.

Notes
Terms of employment:
• Shifts are based on 36.25 hours weekly.
• Candidates must be willing to work weekends and holidays, varying start dates from November 2025, until April 2026, pending end of ski season and operational needs.
• Various low-cost accommodations are available for rent in Elkwater.
• There is no public transportation to the Ski Resort, you must have reliable transportation to and from work. The Ski Resort is located about 10 minutes from Elkwater and about 40 minutes from Medicine Hat.
Any costs associated with obtaining required documents/checks as noted or interview travel expenses, will be the responsibility of the candidate. Out-of-province applicants can obtain the required documents/checks from the province they currently reside in.
