We’re looking for a Judicial Clerk Learning Coach to join our Workforce Development team in Court and Justice Services (CJS). In this role, you’ll report to the Workforce Development Specialist and play a key part in developing content and delivering both virtual and in-person training to Judicial Clerks across our court operations branches.
You’ll collaborate closely with the Workforce Development Specialist to enhance and deliver impactful training programs — building the skills, knowledge, and confidence of new Judicial Clerks, and empowering them to provide exceptional service to Albertans navigating the justice system.
Your role will involve but is not limited to:
- Delivering in-person and virtual training that is available when and where Judicial clerks need it.
- Providing an environment that accommodates a variety of learners with different backgrounds and learning styles and empowers Judicial Clerks to complete their work confidently and effectively.
- Using awareness of how to engage participants in both in-person and virtual environments to facilitate and moderate group discussions and encourage participants to contribute openly and ask questions.
- Collaborating with the Workforce Development Specialist and other Learning Coaches, while maintaining both formal and informal connections with Court Operations colleagues, to ensure that training remains current, relevant, practical, and aligned with departmental goals.
- Acting as a subject matter expert in the development of curriculum for both the interactive virtual and in-person training and the online, self-guided Judicial Clerk Training Program.
- Supporting the Workforce Development team in maintaining and gathering qualitative and quantitative information and statistics to help inform program reporting and potential program changes.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the responsibilities and functions of the clerk role, as well as the daily challenges clerks encounter.
- Promoting collaboration and positive relationships within new clerk cohorts and across groups of new and experienced clerks throughout the province.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Effective communication, presentation, and facilitation skills to deliver training to an adult audience.
- Technical proficiency in setting up and administering virtual training sessions.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to work independently and with a team to plan and deliver training sessions.
- Ability to quickly establish rapport with training participants to engage, encourage and support learning.
- Ability to analyze and evaluate training participant performance relative to course outcomes.
- Ability to synthesize course evaluations to influence changes and to adjust instruction style.
