Alberta Infrastructure designs, builds, manages and maintains government-owned and operated facilities, and collaborates with other ministries to ensure that schools, hospitals and government facilities infrastructure meet the needs of Alberta’s population. The Ministry also provides accommodation services and manages a large portfolio of owned and leased facilities while maintaining fiscal accountability and optimizing value for Albertans.

Role Responsibilities
Reporting to the Caretaker Foreman, the Caretaker responsible for the on-going cleaning of the Legislature Building to ensure asset value is maintained, and to support normal operation of client department functional programs.
The primary responsibilities for the Caretaker are (but not limited to):
- Perform cleaning in all areas of the building
- Collect garbage and recycling from receptables throughout the building
- Sweep, vacuum, mop, wax and buff floors
- Respond to client requests in a timely manner
- Inspect and maintain assigned custodial equipment
This Caretaker operates within a demanding, time sensitive, and quality framework. Developing and maintaining positive client relationships is a key requirement. Clients are the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, Treasury Board and Finance, and Executive Council.

Qualifications
Required:
- High school education, PLUS 6 months of related experience
- Physically able to lift and handle the caretaking equipment associated with position assignment.
Assets:
- Strong communication and customer service skills, both written and verbal.
- A good understanding of industry-related safety procedures and WHMIS regulations
- Knowledge of custodial practices, machinery, and related equipment
- Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
