Role Responsibilities

Seasonal Visitor Services staff work as a part of a team to provide visitors to Bow Habitat Station with a positive, professional, informative and personable experience. This position collaborates with a larger front-line team and adheres to established policies and procedures to ensure quality and consistency in visitor services. Through various communication pathways and channels, you will lead the charge on implementing BHS’ Visitor Services Strategy that goes beyond ticket sales and loyalty programs and aims to foster community and lifelong connections with Alberta’s environment.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

•    Supporting exceptional visitor experiences at every touchpoint of their customer journey from online to on-site. 
•    Processing admission, equipment rentals, café and gift shop sales.
•    Responding to phone, in person and email inquiries.
•    Collecting visitor feedback and data. 
•    Assisting with other departmental duties as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirement - A completed High school diploma

Additional Requirements:

•    Ability to work routine Tuesday through Saturday schedule.
•    Flexibility to work the occasional evening shift.

Assets:
•    Demonstrated point of sales and computer literacy.
•    Experience in cash handling.
•    Excellent in-person customer service skills for a wide range of audiences (interacting with toddlers, youth, adults and seniors).
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills.
•    Knowledge of Alberta fish, wildlife and/or aquatic ecosystems.

•    This is seasonal wage position located in Calgary – 36.25 hours per week.

What We Offer:

Wage employees receive 11.6% in addition to regular wage earnings in lieu of paid holidays and vacation leave:
•    5.6% of regular wage earnings instead of paid holidays
•    6% of regular wage earnings instead of annual vacation pay

Shift differential and opportunity to work overtime, evening, and weekend shifts
